Late Rally by Bruins Secures Win
So Cal Bruins starter Juan González pitched a strong game against the Austin River Sharks at Greendale Community Field, leading the Bruins to a 5-3 win. The win was credited to Marty Burgess in relief. His record improves to 12-11. Paco Gutiérrez took the loss. The Bruins bumped their record to 79-51 with this latest triumph.

Earl Wiggins, who won the MVP Award in 2028, chipped in for So Cal with a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Wiggins said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
