Late Rally by Pikes Secures Win
|
The Seattle Pikes faced a tough opponent in St Charles pitcher Tom Wallace, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Crown Royal Stadium by a final score of 5-2. Wallace went 8 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Francisco Carrasco closed the game out for Seattle, earning his 3rd save. The Sheens fall to 4-8 and continue their uneasy start to the 2030 season.
The Pikes got a big at-bat from third baseman António Hernández. For the game, Hernández was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the ninth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Seattle a 4-2 lead.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Pikes manager Tim Wilson. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
