Knights Subdue Boston, 5-4
|
The umbrellas came out during the New York-Boston contest at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark.
The New York Knights trumped the Boston Rebels, 5-4, at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. New York right fielder Jackson Gibson was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3-3 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. New York reliever José Gómez picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Beau Murphy was saddled with the loss.
Had Bill McCraney not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, McCraney hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Knights.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McCraney told the New York News.
New York is now 48-78, Boston 58-67.
