Machine Solve Knights, 6-3
|
Ken Nelson left his imprint on the 6-3 Chicago win against the New York Knights. Nelson, who is rated as the 59th best prospect by BNN, went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Rod Day got the win, improving to 6-9. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 9 and walking 0. At 59-64, the Machine find themselves in 4th place in the Continental League Eastern Division.
Nelson had a key at-bat for Chicago early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave Chicago an early 2-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Nelson told the Chicago Observer.
