The Austin River Sharks did just enough to secure a 6-5 victory over the Nassau Rockets at Nassau Grounds. Nobody did more than third baseman Richard Coker, who captured player of the game honors. Carlos Hernández went 6 innings for Austin to pick up the win. The right-hander was charged with 5 earned runs. He scattered 6 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 4. His record improves to 11-12. Austin now sits in third place in the Continental League Central Division at 60-60.

Edward Young had a clutch at-bat with one out in the top of the seventh for the River Sharks. Coming up with the bases loaded and Austin trailing 5-4, he hit a 2-run single.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Nassau manager Ji-an Shaw. "But we decided not to take it."
