Pikes Shut Out Tropics
|
The Seattle Pikes picked up a win at Rainbow Stadium, knocking off the Maui Tropics, 5-0. Starting pitcher Nariaki Tanaka was an essential part of his team's success. The third-place Pikes have won 4 straight.
In the top of the fourth inning, right fielder César Valentín came through big-time for the Pikes. With Seattle leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"We had a good game plan," Tanaka said, "and we were able to execute it."
