The Seattle Pikes took So Cal pitcher Juan González's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Pikes' Point Stadium. The final score had Seattle getting past the Bruins, 6-2. González went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 6. Seattle is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Randy Sheppard was 1-4 with a double for Seattle. The slick-fielding center fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off César Menéndez. It was his 43rd RBI of the season.
Sheppard called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
