Browns Lose to D-Bags, 6-4
|
The Jersey Shore D-Bags bested the St. Louis Browns, 6-4, at Ballpark at the Shore. Tyler Wagner was named player of the game. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Jersey Shore reliever Aaron Gibbs picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Jeff Sandusky shouldered the loss. Hyo-chin Kim was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 3 save opportunities.
Had Dave Dodd not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Dodd hit a 2-run home run. That made the score 6-4, in favor of the D-Bags.
"Say want you want about this team, they play nine innings hard," said Jersey Shore manager J.J. Hodgett.
Jersey Shore has a 3-game win streak, while St. Louis has lost 3 in a row.
