Victory Pushes Beavers Record to 72-30
|
The inspired effort of St Charles designated hitter Ramón Molina was not enough to prevent a 8-6 loss to the Baffin Island Beavers. Molina was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Braydon Schute picked up the win, improving his season record to 6-3. He struck out 0 in 6.1 innings. Juan González earned his 4th save in 5 chances.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and one out in the top of the fourth inning. That's when first baseman Alonso Ferreira, who is tied for 9th in the NL in bases on balls with 55, drew a walk. The Beavers went on to win.
Ferreira told a Baffin Island Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Baffin Island goes to 72-30. The win puts them 8 games up in their division.
