Browns Turn Back Kansas City, 4-3
|
St. Louis starter Scott Walker had a strong outing against the Kansas City Kings at Gateway Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. St. Louis reliever Martín Ortíz picked up the win to move to 3-2. Aaron Palmer suffered the loss. Juan Franco notched his 9th save in 16 chances.
Pepe Carrasco, who is a six-time All-Star, aided the St. Louis cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 3 with a walk.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said St. Louis skipper Jeff Porter. "I can't complain."
St. Louis improves to 66-35 with the win. They lead their division by 12˝ games.
