Almost There: Kenilworth On Cusp of R4 Triumph After 5-3 Win
|
The Kenilworth Aces went into extra innings against the Pocatello Bellas but ultimately moved to within one game of the Round 5 today. The Aces downed the Bellas in a 18-inning walk-off at Play Rocks Field by a final score of 5-3. Kenilworth right-hander Robinson Gonzáles was named player of the game after a solid outing in which he came in in relief and pitched to 15 batters . The win gives the Aces a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 BSA Championship.
Wilbert Rodgers chipped in for Kenilworth with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the 18th. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 8 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
Rodgers said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at Play Rocks Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Kevin Bush for the Pocatello Bellas and José Martínez for the the Kenilworth Aces.
