Pocatello Takes League Championship in Deciding Game
|
In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Pocatello Bellas have edged the Springfield Stars.
The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested League Championship, with a 7-4 win in the clincher being the difference for Pocatello and giving them the ticket to the BSA Championship with a 4-3 series triumph.
"We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Roberto García, who was named series MVP.
For the series, García hit .400 with a .471 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 8 RBI and scored 5 runs.
The Pocatello Bellas will play against the Kenilworth Aces in the next round. Kenilworth won their series against the So Cal Bruins 4 games to 3. The BSA Championship schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes.
