Springfield Win Evens Series at 3
|
The Springfield Stars and the Pocatello Bellas will take the League Championship to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Stars beat the Bellas 9-1 at New BRO Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Springfield third baseman Jesús Tobías was named player of the game in the win after he went 2 for 5 with 2 triples. He scored 3 times and drove in 2.
Tobías delivered in the top of the third inning for Springfield. With the game tied and a runner on 2nd, the third baseman hit a run-scoring triple to left-center.
"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Tobías.
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in Pocatello. The scheduled starters for the game are Claudio Martínez for the Springfield Stars and Kevin Bush for the the Pocatello Bellas.
