Springfield Win Evens Series at 1
|
The Springfield Stars knotted up the League Championship at New BRO Stadium today, thanks in large part to starter Rien Middelkamp. Middelkamp quieted the Pocatello Bellas, enabling Springfield to grab the 4-0 win and move into a 1-1 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Derek Davidson, who won the MVP Award in 2027, aided the Springfield cause with a 2-run double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Danny Lombardi.
Game 3 is set to be played Saturday in Springfield. The scheduled starters for the game are Kevin Bush for Pocatello and Claudio Martínez for Springfield.
