Wiggins, Bruins Wallop Looters in Game 6 of R2
|
The So Cal Bruins and the New Orleans Looters will take the Divisional Round to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Bruins beat the Looters 8-1 at Jersey West at Staples Field to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. So Cal catcher Earl Wiggins was named player of the game in the win after he went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4.
William Richardson, who was drafted in the two round of the 2022 draft, chipped in for So Cal with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 runs batted in.
New Orleans manager Ramón Aragón said his team was "out of sync."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Jersey West at Staples Field in Los Angeles. The scheduled starters for the game are Edward Baker for New Orleans and José Ortíz for So Cal.
