Wiggins, Bruins Wallop Looters in Game 3 of R2
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of catcher Earl Wiggins, the So Cal Bruins got a road win against the New Orleans Looters, 5-1, in Game 3 of the Divisional Round today. Wiggins belted 2 home runs for the Bruins, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Rubén Calderón, who is a three-time All-Star, aided the So Cal cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"I felt we were ready to go," said So Cal manager Jorge Rivera. "Our pregame was pretty good."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow in New Orleans. The scheduled starters for the game are Won-min Im for So Cal and Edward Baker for New Orleans.
