Almost There: Kenilworth On Cusp of R3 Triumph After 6-4 Win
|
The Kenilworth Aces moved to within one game of the BSA Championship today, downing the visiting So Cal Bruins at Play Rocks Field by a score of 6-4. Aces right-hander Lorenzo Aguilar was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball. The win gives the Aces a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 League Championship.
Kenilworth took the lead with no one out in the bottom of the first when Roy Patrick stroked a bases-clearing double. That made the score 3-0 in favor of Kenilworth. For the day, Patrick was 2-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3.
"My job is to go out and play as hard as I can for the Aces," said Aguilar.
Game 5 is set to be played tomorrow at Play Rocks Field. The scheduled starters for the game are Jeffrey King for So Cal and Erwin Entwistle for Kenilworth.
