G-Strings Top Athletics to Even Record
|
The Nashville G-Strings beat the Philadelphia Athletics, 6-3, at Gibson Guitar Park. The G-Strings got a fine performance from catcher Wilfred Martin, who captured player of the game honors. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. Nashville has a 3-game win streak, while Philadelphia has lost 3 in a row.
The G-Strings got a big at-bat from left fielder Jesús Núñez. For the game, Núñez was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 13th hit of the season gave Nashville a 5-3 lead.
"It feels good to get this one," Núñez told the Nashville Citizen.
