Carter Helps Bandits Run Win Streak to 3
|
The San Francisco Bandits trumped the Seattle Pikes, 7-5, at Bay View Park. San Francisco catcher Owen Carter was named player of the game for his performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Kunihiko Daikawa converted his 25th save in 33 tries. The Pikes, at 30-61, have lost 6 straight games.
Scott Merritt, who is a two-time Gold Glove Award winner, aided the San Francisco cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third. For the game, the center fielder was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Carter. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
