5-Hit Game for Pierson
|
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Curt Pierson of the Punta Cana Hutias had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 19-1 win over the Watertown Headhunters at Clarence Town Grounds.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 18-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Curt Pierson singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
For the year Pierson is batting .265 with 13 hits and no home runs. He has scored 6 times and driven in 4.
