Fans who gathered at Play Rocks Field saw a good contest between the New York Knights and Kenilworth Aces.
The Knights faced a stiff challenge from Kenilworth pitcher Lorenzo Aguilar, but persevered to claim a win at Play Rocks Field. The final score was 3-2. Aguilar went 8 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Tony Meyer got the win, improving to 3-6. He worked 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2.
The Knights got a big at-bat from second baseman Robert Downing. For the game, Downing went 2-3 with a double. In the top of the fifth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 89th hit of the season gave New York a 3-2 lead.
Downing told a New York News reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
