Sheens Lose to Tropics, 4-2

The Maui Tropics got a strong performance from pitcher Ronald Cotton, who stymied the St Charles offense en route to a 4-2 win at Crown Royal Stadium. Ramón Estrada got the save, his 12th in 15 chances. Maui has now won 3 straight, while the Sheens have lost 3 in a row.
Had John Brown not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Brown hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Tropics.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Cotton, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
