Big Day for Bishop as Bandits Down Rockets, 6-3
|
The San Francisco Bandits defeated the Nassau Rockets, 6-3, at Nassau Grounds today. Leading the charge for San Francisco was shortstop Peter Bishop. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kunihiko Daikawa notched his 23rd save in 30 chances. San Francisco, at 39-44, sits in 4th place in the National League Western Division.
In the top of the first inning, designated hitter Chris Austin came through big-time for the Bandits. With San Francisco leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
"It feels good to get this one," Bishop told the San Francisco Chronicle.
