Pikes Lose to River Sharks, 7-2
|
The Austin River Sharks racked up a win at Pikes' Point Stadium, bumping off the Seattle Pikes, 7-2. Carlos Hernández, who started for Austin, pitched effectively for his team. Hernández went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-11. Jorge Delgado, credited with the save, is now 2 for 5 in save opportunities.
Austin relied on the hitting of Tom Rowe to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the River Sharks on top, 3-1. For the game, Rowe had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
