Nassau withstood an impressive performance by Boston catcher Alfredo Cortéz to defeat the Rebels, 5-4, at Nassau Grounds. Cortéz was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win was Bill Sampson's in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Jorge Oliva took the loss for Boston. The Rebels, at 35-43, have lost 4 straight games.
