River Sharks Lose, 7-6, at Old Comiskey Park
The Chicago Machine bested the Austin River Sharks by a score of 7-6, with third baseman Gonzalo Gil getting the main credit. On the day, Gil went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Machine. Chicago reliever Anthony Jackson picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Manuel Gil was saddled with the loss. Chicago has now won 3 straight, while the River Sharks have lost 4 in a row.

Gil had a game-changing single in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-1 fastball from Junior Mateo, he banged a run-scoring single to center, giving the Machine a 7-6 lead. It was the 64th hit of the year for Gil.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Gil told the Chicago Observer.
