Late Rally by Aces Secures Win
|
Dave Smeddon pitched a gem to lead Kenilworth to a 3-0 victory over the Pocatello Bellas. In 8 innings, Smeddon surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed no runs. Alfonso Ramos closed the game out for Kenilworth, earning his 2nd save.
Had Taylor McFarland not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, McFarland hit a 2-run double. That made the score 2-0, in favor of the Aces.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," McFarland said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Aces keep rolling, raising their record to 6-1.
