Rodríguez Powers Tropics to 11-4 Win
José Rodríguez left his imprint on the 11-4 Maui win against the So Cal Bruins. Rodríguez, the seven overall pick in the 2022 draft, was 3 for 5 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Jerry Martin, who went 5.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 4 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 10-16. Denny Green was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 4 save opportunities.

Maui used the bat of Warren Potter to get the win. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Tropics ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 6 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Rodríguez told the Maui Daily News.
