Bellas Get Road Win, 4-3
|
The Pocatello Bellas picked up a win at Pikes' Point Stadium, knocking off the Seattle Pikes, 4-3. Starting pitcher Dionisio Penni played a key role in the triumph. Penni got the win, improving to 10-6. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Penni allowed 3 earned runs. The Bellas, at 113-40, have a comfortable 25½-game lead in their division.
The Bellas got a big at-bat from first baseman António Ortega. For the game, Ortega went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 146th hit of the season gave Pocatello a 3-2 lead.
"We did enough to win," said Penni.
