Hansen Bashes 5 Base Hits
|
Penn State center fielder Steffen Hansen could do no wrong in today's 19-1 win over the Cougars as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Cougars skipper Francisco Mata said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Hansen agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Steffen Hansen singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 7th.
This season Hansen is hitting .360 with 40 hits, 3 home runs, 19 RBIs, scored 21 runs and played in 27 games.
