Marshals Sneak Past Athletics, 3-2
|
The Houston Marshals stymied the Philadelphia Athletics, 3-2, at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. Adrian Prouse, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2-2 with a home run and 2 walks for Houston. Jim Daniel got the save, the 3rd for him this season. The Marshals raised their record to 37-38.
Bernardo Morales's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a fastball from António López for a run-scoring single. It put Houston in front, 3-2.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Houston skipper John Leach.
