Ray Bashes 5 Base Hits
|
Some days you can't win for losing. Just ask Harry Ray -- he was the King of Swing against the Terrapins, but his Seminoles were beaten 11-10 anyway.
The Florida State third baseman had 7 chances against the Maryland and delivered 5 hits in a sensational game.
"Unbelievable feeling," he told the press. "It felt great to be hitting like that, but a downer when you look at the scoreboard. 5-for-7 does wonders for your confidence, but it's a shame we couldn't win, too."
Harry Ray doubled in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th, singled in the 9th, flied out in the 10th, singled in the 12th, singled in the 14th and walked in the 16th.
For the year Ray is batting .348 with 47 hits and 9 home runs. He has scored 24 times and driven in 31.
