Rebels Win 6-5 Walk-Off
|
Frank Jackson left his imprint on the 6-5 Boston win against the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese. Jackson, who is tied for 4th in the NL with a .346 batting average, went 3 for 5 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Nelson Béltre picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-7. António Ramos was tagged with the loss. Kalamazoo's current losing streak is now 4 games.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 14th inning, when Boston catcher Alfredo Cortéz, facing Dave Huot, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Rebels the 6-5 win.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Jackson told the Boston Gazette.
