Oilers Continue Skid Thanks to Packard, Bandits
|
The San Francisco Bandits trumped the El Dorado Oilers, 10-5, at Bay View Park. San Francisco right fielder Jeff Packard was named player of the game for his performance. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. El Dorado now has a 6-game losing streak.
The Bandits got a big at-bat from first baseman Alan McGilroy. For the game, McGilroy was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave San Francisco a 7-4 lead.
"Winning is the only thing that really matters," McGilroy told the San Francisco Chronicle. "If you can win without even breaking a sweat, more power to you."
