Browns Win Again, Streak Now at 13
|
St. Louis catcher Víctor Serrano made his presence felt in the 9-6 Browns triumph over the Nashville G-Strings. Serrano was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Juan Franco, credited with the win, is now 4-2. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3 innings. St. Louis has run its win streak to 13 in a row.
Serrano had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Kimitada Takai, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Browns a 9-6 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Serrano.
"There were things that we could've improved upon," said Browns manager Jeff Porter, "but all in all, I'm satisfied with our performance."
