Streaking Stars Win Another One
|
Spirited fans at Greendale Community Field greeted the Austin River Sharks for their clash with the Springfield Stars.
Springfield right-hander Kyu-pyeong Pak made an effective start against the Austin River Sharks at Greendale Community Field, leading his team to a 4-1 win. Pak got the win, improving to 5-4. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 8 innings. Pak allowed 1 earned run.
Had Calvin Bennett not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Bennett hit a 3-run home run. That made the score 4-1, in favor of the Stars.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Bennett.
The first-place Stars now have a 6-game winning streak.
