|
Tony Morton did a number on the Knights in the Philadelphia 8-2 victory today, and the number was 5. The Athletics center fielder banged out 5 hits in 5 at-bats at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark to lead his club past the New York Knights.
"I felt good in the batter's box today," he said later. "I had confidence in my swing and knew that it was there and that I could get the job done."
Tony Morton singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Batting .283 to date, Morton has 14 home runs and 54 RBIs.
