Oilers Lose to Looters, 6-4
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman Oliver Deleón, the New Orleans Looters defeated the El Dorado Oilers, 6-4. Deleón went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Looters. Holden Clark earned the win to go to 6-3. He allowed 4 earned runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. Juan Méndez saved it for New Orleans.
The Looters got a big at-bat from right fielder Dan Banks. For the game, Banks was 1-4 with a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 60th hit of the season gave New Orleans a 3-2 lead.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Deleón.
New Orleans is now 40-28, 8½ games up in the National League Southern Division.
