Héctor Vega of the Monroe Mallards had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 16-2 win over the San Francisco Macho Men at Fremont Grounds.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 19-year-old shortstop told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Héctor Vega hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This season Vega has hit at a .269 clip with 28 RBIs, 0 home runs and 29 runs scored.
