| Cuevas Put in Cooler, Hitless Against Rocky Point HS Sunday, May 13th, 2029 José Cuevas's 20-game hitting streak was snapped today at Ghosts Ballpark. The 16-year-old John Jay HS Patriots third baseman failed to get a hit in 2 at-bats in the game against the Rocky Point HS Eagles, but John Jay HS came out the winner, 3-2.
"I don't think the streak was ever a big deal to José," Patriots manager Wes Massey said after the game. "He ain't that type of guy. He just wants to help the team win ballgames."
So far this season Cuevas has gotten 65 hits in 169 at-bats for a .385 batting average with 11 home runs. His stats include 44 RBIs and 50 runs scored. He has played in 40 games. | |
