 | Vélez's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Sunday, April 29th, 2029 The Broken Arrow HS fell to the Oliver Ames HS Tigers in Carbines Ballpark today, even as 15-year-old first baseman Alejandro Vélez upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Vélez finished with 1 hit in 3 at-bats, but could not stop the Broken Arrow HS from dropping the 5-1 decision. "Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Vélez. Alejandro Vélez grounded out in the 1st, walked in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Sergio Ruíz in the 8th. During the current season Vélez is batting at a .375 clip with 7 home runs and 39 RBIs. He has played in 27 games and scored 24 times. |   |
