| Lipscomb Strokes 5 Hits Thursday, April 5th, 2029 The Tacoma HS Torchmen stopped the Huntsville HS Wasps by a score of 27-9 at Field of the Torchmen today, with the lion's share of the credit going to second baseman Jim Lipscomb. The 16-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Lipscomb said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Lipscomb did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Wasps.
"Not much that I can say," offered Huntsville HS manager Leon Townsend. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Jim Lipscomb hit a three-run home run off Leslie Meeks in the 1st, walked in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Rafael Torres in the 7th.
Currently Lipscomb is batting .500 with 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
