 | Vega Torches Magicians for 5 Hits Sunday, April 23rd, 2028 Brookline HS catcher Ed Vega had a big day at Blues Ballpark today against the Oklahoma City HS Magicians. The 17-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-6 and led the Warriors to a 16-5 triumph over Oklahoma City HS. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Vega said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Ed Vega flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
