They were all words being used by the Northwestern Wildcats after today being mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. "It stings to come this close but come up short," said manager José Pierce. Northwestern last appeared in the postseason in 2027. This is their 2nd consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 17 times in their 22-year history.
