| Cornhuskers End Jordan's Streak Saturday, May 19th, 2029 Thomas Jordan, first baseman for the Northwestern Wildcats, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Nebraska Cornhuskers today. Not only did the Cornhuskers break his 28-game hitting streak, they also beat Northwestern by the score of 5-3.
"Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Jordan said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
Jordan is batting at a .333 pace this season, picking up 69 hits in 207 at-bats with 8 home runs, 50 RBIs and 27 runs scored. | |
