 | Gibson Bashes 5 Base Hits Tuesday, May 15th, 2029 Michigan State Spartans right fielder Chris Gibson banged out 5 hits today, but it was not enough to keep his club from succumbing to the Northwestern Wildcats, 10-8. He went 5-for-5 and raised his batting average a few points. "If the hits keep coming," an upbeat Gibson said after the game, "the runs will too. And, more importantly, so will the wins." Chris Gibson singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Marvin Butler in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 9th.
