 | Cougars Joe Johnston Down and Out for Year

The doctors have spoken and Joe Johnston of the Washington State Cougars didn't like what he heard. The 19-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Johnston sustained his season-ending injury during the Georgetown Hoyas game yesterday at Bailey-Brayton Field. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Washington State medical staff reported Johnston had a torn flexor tendon in his elbow and would be absent from the lineup for at least 10 months. |   |
