The offensive onslaught from Smith powered the Fighting Irish to a 13-11 win. "Smith was a tough out today," Villanova manager Ramón Velázquez said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
