| Cardoza on Fire: Burns Ohio State with 3 HR Friday, May 19th, 2028 Richard Cardoza brutalized the Ohio State Buckeyes pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 10-9 victory at Bill Davis Stadium. The Pittsburgh Panthers third baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 3-for-5 with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Too much Richard Cardoza today," Buckeyes manager Dexter Lee said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Richard Cardoza hit a solo-shot off Joe Jackson in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Wilton Mahony in the 6th, hit a solo-shot off Jack Nelson in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
So far this year, Cardoza is batting .318 with 13 home runs and 35 RBIs. | |
