| No-Hitter for Hicks Monday, May 15th, 2028 In a dominant outing, Doug Hicks of the Duke Blue Devils totally silenced the bats of the Kentucky Wildcats, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Blue Devils' 3-0 victory, Hicks faced only 30 batters, surrendered no hits, had 8 strikeouts and 4 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning" Duke manager Tony González said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Erik Lee told reporters in the clubhouse that he had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Blue Devils had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Hicks pitched a heck of a ballgame."
Up to now Hicks has recorded a record of 1-1. In 9 starts he has fanned 35 batters in 38.1 innings with a 4.23 ERA.
